Massage therapy is a popular form of therapy whereby massage is applied to the human body to invigorate, relax, tone, or stretch, as is needed in any particular situation.  Specific techniques used include: Russian Physiological Massage, which is a technique using the strokes of effleurage, vibration, friction, and petrissage so as to achieve specific reactions from the body; Muscle Release Techniques are a combination of stretching and strokes designed to relax the muscles and reduce muscular contraction; The Wallace Method  is a body-movement method based upon slow continuous movement that helps stretch the muscles and allow the skeletal system to come into natural balance; Hot Stone Therapy is the application of hot-and-cold stones to the body to alternately sedate and re-energize bodily responses; Prenatal Massage is a massage for healthy women experiencing a normal or low-risk pregnancy to help alleviate physical discomfort, reduce stress, increase circulation, and promote a deeper state of relaxation and general well-being so as to benefit both the mother and the unborn child; Reflexology is a technqiue utilizing massage strokes and pressure points along the feet to stimulate the natural energies that benefit particular organs and joints.
